Selena hadn't gone out of the house for the past few days. Her encounter with Nick had resurfaced all the feelings she had been trying to repress for a year. She lay with her back against the headboard in her new room. The heat from her laptop was warming her thighs as she furiously typed away, trying to write a poem. She looked out her window to see a dark window. That was supposedly Nick's window because she had seen him there a couple times, but the light hadn't been on in days. It was almost as if he had just disappeared. Her petite waist was wrapped in a light sweater. She was home alone for the day because Sylvia had taken Anna somewhere with her and Jeremy had work. Selena sighed knowing she would have to find a job too, soon. Even though Sylvia had told her not to worry about anything and to just focus on her academics saying that it is what her mother would want. Selena scoffed. She didn't want to think about her mom. It wasn't that she didn't love her; it was that she loved her too much to the point where it hurt. Where her suffering had actually starting to show when she tried to fix her mom. She realized that she couldn't fix anybody. And you shouldn't try to fix anybody because that will just ruin them in the end. You should just be there to love the person and that's that.
